Use wood or metal drills. Comes with metal drill and Carbide bit cable of cutting into light and soft metals. This is a very good choice for that home tool box. Note when cutting light metals use on high RPMs only.

As an example I used mine to cut a hole for a lock in a light metal covered Exterior Door with a high RPM Drill Motor and it worked great.

Capacity:

7/8" to 5" diameter. Cutting depth up to 5/8". Shank 1/4" to fit most drills.
